Planned Giving

Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands represent magical memories to so many of us who have visited over the years. Help ensure the beauty of the Island Parks experience for current and future generations by making a donation to Friends of the Island Parks, Inc.

Donate cash, appreciated securities or other assets

Receive a charitable deduction for an outright gift of cash. Avoid capital gains by donating long term appreciated securities. Please note when making end of year donations: mutual fund gifts can take as long as one month to complete.

Consider a gift of life insurance

When transferring ownership of a paid up policy, you receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the surrender value of the policy. Premium payments can also be tax deductible when your policy gift is designated to be irrevocable. Make a Bequest to Friends of the Island Parks, Inc.

Providing for the Friends in your will is a foresighted step in your gift planning. An outright bequest lets you designate specific amounts of cash or securities or state a percentage of your estate to Friends of the Island Parks, Inc. A contingent bequest allows your estate to pass to the Friends provided some other condition is not met. A residuary bequest lets you make provisions for others while Friends of the Island Parks, Inc. receives the remainder of the estate.

Create a Charitable Remainder Trust

Secure an income stream for yourself, your spouse or your heirs and receive significant tax advantages as well. A Unitrust provides a life income based on a fixed percentage of trust assets. An Annuity Trust allows annual lifetime income at a fixed dollar amount.

Establish a Charitable Lead Trust

You can donate income from the trust to Friends of the Island Parks for a specific period of time. When the trust terminates, the principal returns to you, your heirs or another beneficiary. Lead trusts are sometimes used to transfer wealth to a younger generation.

List Friends of the Island Parks as a Beneficiary

A simple way to make a significant gift is to designate Friends of the Island Parks, Inc. beneficiary of a certificate of deposit, life insurance policy, commercial annuity, or retirement plan. You can also open a bank account in trust for the Friends.

If your company has a matching gift policy that will increase your gift and Friends of the Islands Parks, Inc. is eligible to participate, please request a form from your company to have your contribution matched.
